Mission Statement

Matthew 5:14-16 says. “Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

To me, this means that God has given me my sunny personality for a reason.  To be a light for the world.  To show others The Light that comes from having Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord.  I have always been a bubbly, happy person – God gave that to me, and I intend to use it for His glory, and not my own (although I am not known for my uber modesty when it comes to how awesome I am…).

The world NEEDS happy, bubbly people!  The glum people may grumble about us, but let me tell you – they are starving for happiness!  Some people honestly just do not know how to be happy, or how to stay happy once they get cheered up.  Come closer, and I’ll whisper the secret of happiness to you!  Are you close yet?  Come on, lean in closer!  *whispers*  It’s….  *shouts* JESUS!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for shouting, I can’t help it!  It’s so exciting!  Jesus just fills my heart with joy, and there’s so much that I can’t keep it inside, it just bursts out!  Like Alka Seltzer in a Diet Coke!

When I am sad, He makes me glad!  He’s my friend!

Jesus Christ, God’s one and only son, was sent to Earth over 2,000 years ago.  To live as a mortal man, to hurt and feel and love as we do.  To give us the ultimate sacrifice – his own life:  horrible, cruel, humiliating, excruciating death on a cross – for sins he did not commit, but we did.  So that we might know His love, and accept Him as God’s son, and our savior.  So that we can be with him in heaven when we die.  So that we are not bound to the Old Testament Commandments any longer – for we couldn’t keep them, and He was losing us.

God LOVES us, and doesn’t want to lose us!!!  So he gave us a miracle!  A way to live with such joy and love in our hearts!  He gave us Jesus.  And Jesus didn’t “just” die a horrible death on a cross for us.  He did something impossible!  He rose again!  He came back from the dead, and then rose into heaven, with the promise that if we believe, and repent (turn away) from out sins, that we will come to Heaven, to be with Him when we die,

When you believe that Jesus is God’s son, and that He was sent to Earth for the purpose of dying and rising again FOR US, and you understand that you have sinned (done things that God has told you not to) and don’t WANT to keep sinning, and understand that you need God to forgive you for those sins, and to stay with you always, and to help you not sin more.  When you tell Jesus all of this, and that you need Him, need Him to be your Savior, need Him to save you from your own sins – then YOU can have that joy!  YOU will have Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior!  YOU get to have this fantastic relationship with the amazing One who created you!!!

It’s amazing, it’s soooo amazing!!!  *fan girl squeal*  I just love that!!!

*calms down a bit, and focuses on post*  What is your candlestick?  For me, my candlestick is ,many things.  My candlestick is my own house, with my husband and my children (and my husband’s sister, who lives with us).  My candlestick is the piano bench at my church.  My candlestick is at a campground, where I get to speak to children from around the state about God and missions.  I have candlesticks all over the place!!!  God has told me to climb up on those candlesticks and let my light shine before men!  So I do!!!

Where are your candlesticks?  Is your light shining in those places?  Or is it sitting under a bushel, nervous, and afraid of rejection?  Did you leave your light out in the car?  At home?  At church last Sunday? *tsk tsk tsk*

So, join me in letting my light shine, on this candlestick!  And, please, if you would like to know more about this light, about my Jesus and my Savior, comment!  Email me!  Call me up! I would love to tell you more of what God has done for me!
